Reading Response: Rationale

As someone that is wanting to teach high school biology and someone that loves to read I thought it very important to choose books that were engaging but had a very strong scientific element. The goal is to get your students interested and engaged in learning about science. And I think that reading an exciting story with science involved is just what is needed to ignite student interest in science. It’s not enough just to watch the teacher lecture about the facts of science, you have to get their minds engaged to asked ask questions and spark the desire to learn more. My selections, I believe, can grant some invaluable teaching moments where real learning can occur.
